Island Life: Photographs from the Martin Parr Foundation

Lorenzo Vitturi

Born 1980, Venice, lives and works in London

Vitturi studied Photography and Design in Rome before working as a cinema set painter. Creating set pieces has fed into his practice which combines performance, installation, assemblage/sculpture and photography. Vitturi inhabits a place, absorbing and observing, then using its raw materials to recreate something about its identity that might otherwise be lost in time. Dalston Anatomy, which celebrates Ridley Road Market, was presented as posters in the market itself before making a photo book in 2013. The process was repeated in his project Money Must be Made, in Lagos.
